Christmas in Cottenham

  • by

Well, another Christmas has come and gone. This year it was pretty much all about the kids. Yuki and I exchanged a couple of small gifts but all in all we decided not to buy those silly little useless gifts just for the sake of having something to open. We’ll do something later in the year, Yuki wants to go shopping somewhere on the Continent .. likely Amsterdam or Milan or something, so we’ll make it mini holiday and take the kids too.

The kids had loads of toys given to them.. a lot of them came from Nana Shirley, Grandpa Bob “The Builder” and Nana Carol in Canada. They ordered everything online from ELC (Early Learning Centre), a toy shop specializes in toys for babies to sort of 12-14 age group I guess on the top end. Things there are reasonably cheap (for the UK) and cheap and fast shipping. Lisa also got a laptop (used) shipped over from Canada as well, if you haven’t read that you can read it on the old blog. Lisa just loves it.. Thanks Nana Carol and Grandpa Bob “The Builder” ๐Ÿ™‚

You can see pictures of them opening the gifts and a video that’s not great but it’s a video.. Click Here to open a new window to the gallery. There are a couple of videos.. one before the chaos started and one of the action haha

The kids had a great time opening the gifts.. Lisa of course has been through a few birthdays and Christmas’s so she’s got the routine of opening gifts down pat.. but it’s really a bit new for Emma.. last year she wasn’t really interested in trying to unwrap things, she just couldn’t work it out. This year she was settling in watching her big sister open stuff and had a bit of a go, but you’ll see from the video lao ye (Grandfather on the Mothers side) was helping out a little too much ๐Ÿ™‚ Well, this was his first ever western Christmas so he’s forgiven for it. In fact, Yuki’s parents were married on Dec 25, 27 years ago, so not only was it his first Christmas proper but it was also his Anniversary too.

To conclude, a good time was had by all.

Hope everyone has a terrific New Year!!
