Quick first update for 2013

  • by

Wow it’s been a while since my last blog posting .. the first of November. I suppose not really too much has happened since then, save for Christmas and New Years, both of which were low key events around the McKenzie household.

2012 was busy year for us, lots of travel for my work and the girls were all off to China last summer for 5 or 6 weeks.

What is 2013 going to be like?

Emma was invited to start at Brownies this year, so she went for her first evening this week and loved it. The only thing she said she didn’t like too much was that not only is she in the same “six” as Lisa but that Lisa is also her “buddy”, the one to help her and show her the ropes. I suppose in some ways it’s good, but then again the girls play with each other all the time at home so it would have been nice to see them separated a little at Brownies. Oh well, it is what it is.

I’m going to be doing some travelling this year again for work, at least 2 or 3 journeys to the US offices (NYC and Boston), the first of which will come on Feb 2nd when I head to the NYC office for 3 weeks for training and to get stuck in fully with a big deployment. Going to be a busy few weeks while I’m there, that’s for sure.

As always I’m trying to improve my photography skills and the one area I lack is the confidence to just stop random people on the street and ask to take their photo. So, to try and remedy that I’m going too participate in a project called 100 Strangers Portrait Project.  It looks very interesting, and by all accounts of others that have been doing it, it’s great way to finally break the inability to just speak to random strangers.

I’m also planning more photography courses and workshops to try and learn more techniques and pick up tips from others.

I’m sure there is going to be plenty more on this year.. keep checking back for updates.
