Have you ever been just ever so happily poking around on your computer when all of a sudden something unexpected happens and you get that “loving feeling” from Microsoft?
Well, that happened to me last night … and continued until the morning. I must say, I’m all “loved” out now.
I won’t go into the details as it will bore most people to tears, but it involved 2 software packages I use on every single windows machine all the time, Zone Alarm (Free) and Trendmicro Internet Security Pro.
Something happened with one or both of these, and turned my laptop into a very very hot brick. The heat came from the constant 100% CPU usage which was keeping the temp of the CPU between 80c and 85c. Wonderful.

It was announced on Sept 7, 2007 that a section of Hwy 401 would be renamed the “Highway of Heroes”. This is mostly to do with the fact that every Canadian soldier that is returned to Canada from places abroad is first flown to CFB Trenton, then driven to Toronto for their autopsy and other official processing before being released back to their families.
The pictures are quite moving, to see such patriotism in Canada, in my opinion, a rare thing. We are all use to seeing Americans going full out to support their troops, dead and alive, but Canada has always been quite reserved to put it mildly.
To quote a press release from Premier of Ontario‘s website:
For Immediate Release
September 7, 2007
“HIGHWAY OF HEROES” SIGNS UNVEILED ALONG HIGHWAY 401
Ontario Government Honours Canada’s Fallen Soldiers
QUEEN’S PARK — The Ontario government has formally dedicated the “Highway of Heroes” by unveiling signs along a stretch of Highway 401 that commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of Canadian soldiers, Premier Dalton McGuinty said today.
“The road that links Ontario and Quebec is named in honour of the two leaders who gave life to our young nation more than 140 years ago,” said Premier McGuinty. “It is enormously fitting, then, that we dedicate a portion of this very road in honour of those who gave their lives for our nation.”
New “Highway of Heroes” signs have been installed along the route, commemorating Canadian soldiers who have made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. This dedication pays tribute to the solemn journey fallen soldiers take once they return to Canada and are formally transported from Trenton to Toronto. The 172-kilometre stretch of Highway 401 between Toronto and Trenton will keep its official name — the Macdonald-Cartier Freeway….

I was forwarded a link to the Geograph website a while back but never really looked at it much until today (had some spare time). The link that was sent was actually for pics of Cambridge. I used the search to see if there was anything for Cottenham, our village, and sure enough there are loads of them.
Check out this link – CLICK HERE to see Geograph pics of Cottenham
Some of the pics… (Click the pics to go to the website)

Out here in the country you quite often see horse farms with black rubbish bags full of manure for sale at the side of the road. When we first moved to Cottenham this one farm down the road always had their horse dung out for 50p (£0.50) a bag. Well last year that went up to 60p, this year it’s up to 70p. You know things are really serious when you have to start charging for sh*t!!! Seriously, can the cost of poop actually go up??

This video explains the differences in how the brains of men and women work. It’s quite educational, and funny too.
